So Sorry, it's been a long time since I posted

Blogspot now has the opportunity to subscribe by email, so you don't even have to come back and check this blog that I am failing to keep up with... I also added a link to the Kidlet's Amazon Wish List... I will try to keep it updated, deleting things as they have been received or outgrown, and adding things that are necessary or desired.

She has been working on addition skills, trying to get fast at adding. I've come to the conclusion that this is boring for her, so what we're going to do is go back to our Saxon Math book and move on... She CAN add... She CAN subtract... About as well as I can... Not quickly, but she does know it. Similarly, I need to go back to having a Spelling list, writing the words 10 times on Monday, using them in a sentence on Tuesday, etc... Morning sickness made me lazy, but I am now at the energetic part of pregnancy.

I placed an order with Rainbow Resource for the next Story of the World book, since she thinks Colonial history is boring... May wait another year for US History then...

A break

Even during breaks, we are still learning. As evidence, this picture below of Brittani playing with her fuse beads (purler beads is the official name, but I got used to calling them fuse beads) on Friday. She woke up in rare form and fighting with her over anything, much less school work, was not happening. So what is she learning by using the fuse beads? Well, for one, hand eye coordination and fine motor skills, creative design, and problem solving/critical thinking skills.

She very carefully designed a boy and girl figure, a "dutch flower" as she calls the tulip, and a daisy type flower. I had been designing flags using the square template, and that opened up a new line of discussion as well... She has challenged me to create a Union Jack...

We have finished our Ancient Civilizations Book, as well as the Pre-Bio book, so saving up money to get the next set of those, which can be found atStory Of The World: Middle Ages and Biology Level 1 or if you are just interested in seeing what she is needing next, I try to keep her wish-list updated
